Woman discovers why she had been having horrible headaches

A woman who had been suffering from severe headaches was horrified to discover they were due to tapeworm larvae sacs growing in her brain. Yadira Rostro first started to notice bad headaches nine months ago and finally sought medical help after they continued to get worse.

It is believed the 31-year-old picked up the tapeworms on a trip to Mexico two years ago.

They are common in food contaminated with fecal matter but pass through most people in a few days. Unfortunately for Yadira they got into her bloodstream and then her brain.

With her permission, Methodist Dallas Medical Center shared video of doctors extracting the larvae earlier this month.

Neurosurgeon Richard Meyrat explained.
"They looked a little bit like eggs, and they have a clear sac," he said. "And inside it, a small tapeworm."

The woman is expected to make a full recovery but perhaps understandably does not want to view the footage from her surgery.

New ATM Rules In Nigeria

The Central Bank of Nigeria has directed banks to ensure to resolve all Automated Teller Machine (ATM) cardholders’ complaints within a maximum of 72 hours from the date of receipt the complaints or face sanctions. This is contained in a new set of rules to guide transactions, going forward. Where records are falsified by any party, the CBN warns that adequate sanctions shall apply.

In an exposure draft on the standards and guidelines on electronic channels operations in Nigeria, signed Dipo Fatokun, its Director Banking and Payments System Department, the CBN also directed banks or independent organizations that deploy ATM for the use of the public to ensure that the ATM vault replenishment must be carried out as often as possible to avoid cash-out.

They are also to ensure that ATMs are not stocked with unfit notes and that cash is available in the machines at all time.

The CBN also warned that the ATM downtime (due to technical fault) must not be more than seventy-two (72) hours consecutively.

It added however, that where this is not practicable, customers shall be duly informed by the deployer.

They are also to ensure that the helpdesk contacts are adequately displayed at the ATM terminals.

It warned that at the minimum, a telephone line should be dedicated for fault reporting and such telephone line shall be functional and manned at all times that the ATM is operational.

Also, all ATM charges must be fully disclosed to customers, the CBN insists in the new rules.

The apex bank said that there must be appropriate monitoring mechanism to determine failure to dispense cash; and that there is online monitoring mechanism to determine ATM vault cash levels.
“Penalties Sanctions, in the form of monetary penalties / or suspension of the acquiring/processing service (s) or both, would be imposed on erring institutions for failure to comply with any of the provisions of the ATM standards and guidelines or any other relevant guidelines issued by the CBN from time to time,” the apex bank warned.

The funding and operation of the ATM deployed by non-bank institutions should be the sole responsibility of the bank or institutions that entered into agreement with them for cash provisioning and in this regard, the Service Level Agreement (SLA) should specify the responsibilities of each of the parties.

The CBN rules noted that Change of PIN must be provided to customers free of charge throughout the entire value chain, while acquirers monitor suspicious transactions and report statistics to CBN based on the agreed format and timeframe.

Back-up power (inverter) is made available at all ATM locations in such a way that the machine would not cease operation while in the middle of a transaction, the CBN said, adding that Waste disposal basket must be provided at all ATM locations.

A register of all their ATMs in Nigeria with location, identification, serial number of the machines, etc must also be maintained, going forward.

For security reasons, every ATM is required to have cameras which would view and record all ATM Security. “However, such cameras should not be able to record the key strokes of customers using the ATM,” the CBN further noted in the statement pasted on its website.

The CBN now requires any institution which operates an ATM to file an updated list of such machines, including the detail location of their addresses with its Banking & Payments System Department for compliance monitoring.

The CBN also disclosed that it will conduct onsite snap checking of ATMs with a view to ensuring compliance with cash and service availability at the ATMs, as it directed acquirers to report volume and value of transactions on monthly basis to its Director, Banking & Payments System Department.

A politician's prostitution solution.. 'Men should marry more than one wife!'

A Kenyan politician has advised men to marry more than one wife as one way of combating prostitution. David Gikaria, a Nakuru, Kenya Member of Parliament said that if men married more than one wife then prostitution would end because all single women will get husbands.

Speaking on Monday, September 14 at a free medical camp he had organized in his constituency, Gikaria, who has three wives, said that prostitution is on the increase in Kenyan towns because women lack husbands.

"There are so many women in our towns who don’t have husbands or men in their lives and this forces them to resort to prostitution and this thing can be solved if only men agree to marry more than one wife," he said. "Why should we allow these women to suffer cold at night when we can take care of them in our homes." he added. Gikaria gave his own example saying that he has three wives and called on men to learn from him. "I think those people who have money especially MPs are well off should lead from the front by marrying many wives," said Gikaria.

Flamboyant psychologist: 10 tips on how to get a boyfriend

This article was written by Adejoro Olumofin aka "Doktor" Mofin the Relationship Consultant.
10 tips on How to get a Boyfriend :

(1) Remove guys from your friendzone list. (2) Smile Often. (3) Change your normal routine. (4) Eliminate distractions. (5)Open mindset and Reasonable standards. (6)Go out less with your friends. (7)Be more active on Social media. (8)  Join an Organization that is 60% male dominated. (9) Rebrand / RePackage yourself. (10) Pray...

(1) Remove guys from your friendzone list : "Friendzone" is a mental classification or categorization of a guy or group of guys in a lady's mind I.e she sees a guy as a non sexual object or as a brother. Some single  ladies today see having a lot of guys on their friendzone list as an achievement or an award, they enjoy the fact that guys keep trying to get their attention or approval while they call him things like "bro" , "cuz" , "G" "padi" "Egbon" as a means to discourage him from trying to talk to them or ask them out. My question is ; if you're single and you're looking for a boyfriend why have so many guys as just friends without giving them chances? Or opportunities to prove themselves to you. Marriage counsellors have revealed that most couples were initially just friends or co-workers before they started dating. Un-friendzone some guys and see where it leads, you may just be swept off your feet or be walking down the aisle soon.

(2) Smile Often ; Look Approachable: A lot of guys are discouraged to approach a Lady who has a strong or mean face. Some ladies attend weddings or fashion shows just to frown their faces, men may be scared of instant rejection or think you're just mean. Primacy Effect in Psychology makes emphasis on first impression being an important factor in perception. So Ladies if your face is strong and your heart is soft make an effort to smile more. This makes you look more approachable, most men don't like being rejected in public by a woman so they would be most likely discouraged to approach you if you're always wearing a hard / strong face.

(3) Change your normal routine (try a new church, bar, cinema, beach) : If you're a single lady and you've been attending the same church, cinema, bars for the past 16 months and there is no visible suitor I suggest you switch the branch of your church from Ikeja to Surulere, or Apapa to VI. This is a Process known as randomization; doing something different or attending new places will give you a new set of possibilities of meeting new suitors or making new friends generally.

(4) Eliminate Distractions : (Exs, Single minded friends, friends with benefits etc ) : Exs that just hang around like vultures waiting for drunk sex to happen again or standing in your way of moving forward  need to GO, "single minded friends " ladies you may have that friend or "friends" who wants you to be single because she's single too and it's ok for you to have a boyfriend only when she has a boyfriend, that friend/ friends needs to go, friends with benefits only create a mirage in your mind because you're being emotionally and physically satisfied but there isn't any strong commitment so you find yourself in a quandary or dilemma because you're living for the moment and not the future.

(5) Open Mindset and Reasonable Standards : Some Ladies have crafted and created their boyfriends or husbands in their minds, they have played the role of creator in their Cognitive Archetypes so any guy who doesn't meet a particular standard or level shouldn't even bother walking up to them. No one is saying lower your standards but there are a lot of guys with potential out there... Not everyone can be 100% and complete when you meet them.

(6) Go out less with your friends : Obviously this doesn't mean you should be a recluse but there are sometimes when you should just be that pretty or stunning lady at the mall or movies. Studies have shown that men feel more comfortable approaching a lady who is alone than with a group of ladies. Some ladies feel uncomfortable or think it's a taboo to go out alone and feel that they would look desperate or awkward but ladies write your own rules, what works for others may not work for you.

(7) Be Active on social media : some people may disagree but social media when used properly can be a good medium for meeting people. Some ladies from January to August don't post a single picture of themselves, their favorite football club, favorite movie, favorite political party on their BBM or Instagram they are basically Ghosts and observers. By posting a picture of anything you can attract a similar mind like yourself for you to at least start a conversation. It takes just one conversation to start something special

(8) Attend organizations that are 60% male dominated ( gym, dance club, weddings) : Attending the gym often is not only good for giving you a great body but also for  meeting guys and you being the centre of attraction, weddings are the most popular in recent times and there are more males than females at weddings. Weddings have been credited for initiating a lot of marriages and relationships

(9) Rebrand / Repackage yourself: While Staying true to yourself and upholding your ideals and goals. Focus on making yourself better than who you were yesterday by hard work, eating healthy, networking, working out, SELF LOVE and attitudinal orientation because if you don't believe in your self no one will believe in you. Don't let your last boyfriend or relationship define you. A lot of us still carry scars from our past relationships, this creates a burden in our minds and impedes our progress.

(10) Pray: this is the most Important factor when searching for a boyfriend. Prayer does things that science cannot explain.

Remember having a boyfriend doesn't make you complete, and being single doesn't make you incomplete. There are a lot of people in relationships just to mark register " I have a boyfriend" but aren't happy. Above all do what makes you happy and what is beneficial to you, stay true to yourself and have reasonable standards..

Three Crowns Milk #SmartLikeMine competition

This was not written by me. It's a sponsored post. Read below...
Ever heard the term “Ajayi, Smarty pants or ITK- I –too- know” before? These are the few names we called people who raise their hands to every question in class, showed off about knowing everything and asked too many questions when the lecturer was about to leave. The beautiful thing is, there was always one in every class.

We can never forget chubby Sade in secondary school, always looking for one way or the other to show-off. So, one particular day, she over did it. It was 4pm that day and I remember vividly because we were all so hungry and eager to head to the dining hall. Our teacher as usual, threw a question at us as he was about to leave. None of us knew the answer, all except one boy who answered correctly and thankfully, briefly.
Our teacher was already stepping out and we following behind, when we heard our beautiful, never disappointing Sade say “In addition to that sir…” And then we all totally lost it, I mean… totally! At the end of the day, her addition was different from the question asked and we ended up missing lunch. LOL (That last part is me exaggerating)
Now that I am much older, I think being an ITK is actually a very good thing, after all, I saw Sade in a Porsche Cayenne cruising Lagos last Wednesday. Me too I go hammer o.
So fast forward to today;I hear Three Crowns Milk is changing the conversation by awarding its smart fans N50, 000 shopping vouchers, a MacBook Air, IPhone 6 and IPad in its #ThreeCrownsMilkSmartLikeMine competition on Facebook.
For ten days, Three Crowns Milk fans will answer questions uploaded everyday on the Facebook page. The first correct answer for each day wins a N50, 000 vouchers and at the end of the competition, the ten winners would compete for the grand prizes of MacBook Air, IPhone 6 and IPad.
So if you think you are smart enough, then log on to www.facebook.com/ThreeCrownsMilk today, to participate.

Woman cuts off married lover's manhood because he wouldnt leave his wife for her (photos)

When 20-year-old Zhang got fed up with her married lover's empty promises to leave his wife, she took matters into her own hands by cutting off his penis with scissors. The victim, Liu, a 50-year-old business from Hangzhou in Zhejiag Province, China repeatedly promised his young girlfriend that he would leave his wife to begin a new life with her.

On that fateful day, the lovers checked into a hotel in the city together for their usual rendezvous. But soon afterwards Liu ran out of the room screaming and covered in blood, according to a staff member

She added that she saw a young woman sneaking away soon afterwards.
"I went into the room and there were a pair of scissors and a severed penis lying on the bed."
The woman had given sleeping pills to the man and cut off his penis as he slept.

The businessman ran out half-naked into the street, calling for a doctor. He eventually got a taxi that took him to the hospital.

According to police reports, Zhang is now being sought for ‘cutting off a victim’s reproductive organ’.

Her current whereabouts are unknown. Police have declined to comment on whether Liu’s penis was reattached.

Nigerian refugees in 'atrocious' situation in Niger: UN

Thousands of Nigerian refugees who fled to southeast Niger to escape the Islamist group Boko Haram are in an "atrocious" situation, the United Nations says.
"There is a psychosis among the people who were expelled from their villages, their homes by Boko Haram. It's an atrocious situation." Toby Lanzer, UN regional humanitarian coordinator for the Sahel, told AFP on Wednesday during a visit to Assaga, one of the largest Nigerian refugee camps in southeast Niger.
The camp, which has around 6,000 people, is about 10 kilometres (six miles) from the regional capital of Diffa, near the Boko Haram stronghold of restive northeast Nigeria.
"This is a very acute security crisis for those people, who are almost without hope," Lanzer said. They were "living peacefully" when "all of a sudden, the Boko Haram arrive, force them out of their villages, steal their cattle," he said. "I'll make a very strong plea next week at the UN General Assembly and tell donors, 'We really must help the people of Diffa'," Lanzer said, as he paid tribute to UN agencies deployed in Niger.
In the Assaga camp, set up by the UN three months ago, many refugees live in abject poverty and sleep in makeshift shelters at the mercy of mosquitoes and bad weather, an AFP reporter saw. The first refugees were given tarpaulins and tents and regularly receive food rations, but more recent arrivals say they have not yet received any help at all.
"I have not eaten for days," Mohamed Ari complained to AFP. Lanzer was visiting to assess the humanitarian situation in the Diffa region, which has been weakened by successive years of drought and flood and already hosts more than 150,000 refugees who fled the violence in Nigeria since April 2013, according to the Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) in Niamey.
Since February 2015, Diffa has suffered several deadly attacks in Boko Haram raids from neighbouring Lake Chad. In six years of bloodshed, the Boko Haram insurgency to carve out an Islamic state in northeast Nigeria has left at least 15,000 dead and left more than two million others homeless.

Ex-Governor Akpabio's credit card declined at London hotel (photos)

Former Akwa Ibom state governor Godswill Akpabio, who is currently in the UK to get treatment after surviving a car crash in Abuja on August 31st, suffered embarrassment at Mandarin Oriental Hotel, a luxury five-star hotel in the Knightsbridge area of London after his credit card was declined while he attempted to check into the hotel.

According to Sahara reporters who released the photos, Akpabio was heard making a call to a banker in Lagos state eiquiring why his card was declined. When SR contacted him, Akpabio said his card was declined because he had used the card to check out of the Four Seasons luxury hotel earlier in the day. Akpabio stated that his credit card had maxed out of its daily spending limit, hence he could not make use of it.

Police arrest Indian man in Lagos over visa scam

A Dubai-based Indian man, Mohammed Shazul, has been arrested by the Nigerian police for procuring a Dubai visa using the name of his former business partner,  Ayodotun Babalola. Ayodotun (pictured above) had petitioned the Nigerian police after he discovered that his former business partner who he fell out with after he demanded for 49% share of the company which they ran together, had used his name to obtain a Dubai visa, thereby preventing him to apply for a visa.

"I applied for a visa to Dubai only to discover that my name had been used to obtain a visa without my knowledge. The company is Citadel Toss Company. When I contacted Citadel Toss Company, they told me they have strict instruction from their client, (the suspect) not to hand over the visa to anybody even if the owner comes until further instruction from him. Their plan was to ensure that I don’t get visa to Dubai to do my business. I see my visa as my personal document and on that note I couldn’t travel again because I was restricted. I had to petition the Inspector-General of Police to complain officially to seek redress on the matter,’’ Ayo said in his petition which was obtained by NAN.
Police say the Indian national and some of his accomplice have been arrested and are currently being investigated
