Major
Grill and BBQ festivals are popularly held around the world; most notably in
Melbourne, Australia, Texas, Nashville, etc. in the USA, Bristol in the United
Kingdom, South Africa and most recently in Lagos Nigeria, at the MuriOkunola
Park, Victoria Island during the Easter period this year. Following the success of the Lagos
Festival, The Grind decided to tour major cities, with Abuja being the next
stop.
“This
event will be the first of its Kind in Abuja, and a bit different from most of
the food and garden events popular with the city. The Abuja Grill &Bbq
event is an International event, with a fusion of the Western style Grill and
authentic Naija grill & BBQ, with a lot of entertainment, food tasting,
fun, games & party for family and friends during the independence
celebration in the Capital. For Vendors/Exhibitors it’s an opportunity to
market and explore the opportunities the festival brings, with the gathering of
grill/food lovers and also promote the grill and bbq culture, as well as their
own businesses, showcasing their unique and different styles of grilling
poultry, seafood, meats, fruits etc. In other words, this is their own
exclusive trade fair!
Says Francis Ebie, Chief Coordinator of the event
